Selected by Arizona with the 19th overall pick in the 2025 Draft out of high school, Cunningham is an offensive-minded infielder with twitchy athleticism and a high baseball IQ. The 5-foot-10, 182-pound left-handed hitter made his pro debut at Single-A Visalia last week, slashing .278/.316/.278 through four games while showcasing the advanced hit tool that made him a first-round selection. Cunningham uses the whole field with an efficient but aggressive swing that flashes gap power and 25-homer potential. He demonstrates a good feel for the strike zone and the ability to recognize and adjust to off-speed pitches.
Despite committing three errors in four games at shortstop, he flashes the range, receptive hands, and strong throwing arm to man the position long-term; however, second or third base is also a possibility. His polished technical skills and feel for the game establish a high floor, while his offensive upside makes Cunningham a player who could rise quickly through the Arizona farm system and develop into a middle-of-the-order contributor with All-Star potential.
