Signed by the Giants as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2025, the now 18-year-old Gonzalez has impressed at Single-A San Jose, slashing .352/.454/.565 through 26 games while showing an advanced offensive approach. Listed at 5-foot-10 and 178 pounds, Gonzalez is a twitchy athlete who generates surprising power from a lean frame. He creates good leverage from both sides of the plate and shows the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Gonzalez’s feel for the strike zone and selective approach are evident in his stingy 19-percent strikeout rate and strong 15-percent walk rate. His patience and bat-to-ball skills give him a high offensive floor, while continued physical development could unlock 25-plus home run power. Gonzalez’s offensive tools currently stand ahead of his defensive value, and his versatility could eventually lead to a utility role that allows his bat to play. Regardless of where he settles defensively, his baseball IQ, athleticism, and polished offensive foundation give him a chance to move quickly through the Giants’ system and develop into a productive top-of-the-lineup run producer.
