Ching-Hsien Ko prospect report (Dodgers)

Signed out of Taiwan in June 2024 for $650,000, the now 19-year-old Ko entered the 2026 season as the Dodgers’ 19th-ranked prospect. At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, he possesses the prototypical frame of a power-hitting corner outfielder, combining physical strength with surprising athleticism. Through his first 10 games at Single-A Ontario (48 plate appearances), Ko has produced a .300/.417/.525 slash line with two home runs and three doubles.

A left-handed hitter, he takes an aggressive approach at the plate, looking to drive the baseball while showing the ability to recognize and adjust to off-speed pitches. With a relatively flat swing, Ko stays inside the ball well and uses the whole field. He flashes plus gap power with 30-home run potential and shows patience with a solid feel for the strike zone, though his 31% strikeout rate will need to be addressed.

Defensively, Ko profiles in a corner outfield role, where his range and adequate arm strength fit. With his combination of offensive upside and baseball IQ, Ko could develop into an everyday, run-producing corner outfielder.
